Abraj Al-Bait is a supertall and large building complex that is located in Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The building complex holds some world records, such as one the world’s highest hotel, the world’s highest clock tower, the biggest clock face, and also the biggest building floor space on earth. The hotel towers became the world’s 2nd highest building ’till 2011, beaten only by the famous Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
The complex of this future skyscrapers is very close to Masjid al Haram, the largest mosque on earth and the most holy place for muslim religion. The Saudi Binladin Group IS The contractor and developer of the Abraj Al-Bait complex, which is biggest construction company in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Having 601 meters (1,972 ft) high, the towers that’s also called the Mecca Royal Hotel Clock Tower hold a record as the world’s largest building by mass and highest in Saudi Arabia. The Abraj Al-Bait building will surpass the modern International Airport in Dubai that has the biggest floor area from any building in the planet having 1.5 million sq.meters of floorspace. Also the building will surpass the famous hote in Dubai, “Emirates Park Towers”.
Additionally, the Abraj Al Bait Towers feature a five-floors shopping mall plus a parking area that can hold more than a thousand cars. The complex also has a condominium with 2 heliports & a conference centre for business travelers. Overall, nearly a hundred thousand people can be housed in Abraj Al Bait Towers. The tallest residential floor that has 450 meters (1,480 ft) high, that is located exactly underneath the giant clocks (the world’s largest clock).
The position of the clocks is about 530 meters (1,740 ft) high from the ground, that make the spot of those clocks become the highest in the world. A 71 meters (233 ft) high spire is placed above the clock making it the highest tower has 601 metres or 1,972 ft tall, that makes it become the 2nd highest building on earth, surpassing the famous building in Taiwan Taipei 101.
